We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analytics Engineer / Data Modeler to lead our client’s data modeling initiatives and optimize their business intelligence (BI) processes. The successful candidate will oversee a team of 2-3 SQL Data Engineers, providing guidance on best practices for developing dbt (data build tool) models and enhancing Power BI performance through use case-oriented data modeling. This role requires a deep understanding of SQL query optimization, physical data modeling, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into efficient data models.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable data models to support BI use cases, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Develop and enforce best practices for dbt model development, including coding standards, project structure, and documentation, to ensure consistency and quality across data projects.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define problem statements and translate business requirements into effective data models and analytical solutions.

Optimize Power BI performance by implementing best practices in data modeling, such as proper relationship definitions, efficient DAX calculations, and data load strategies.

Provide leadership and mentorship to the SQL Data Engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Establish and document data modeling guidelines, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity, consistency, and best practices across the organization.

Stay informed of industry trends and advancements in data modeling, dbt, and BI tools to continuously improve processes and technologies.
